Bat Survey For Planning Consents

Preliminary Roost Assessment & report (PRA)

Stage 1: Visit 1

Our licensed ecologists provide Preliminary Roost Assessments (PRA) to establish the likelihood of bats roosting in your structures. Our ecologists are licensed to enter areas where bats are roosting and can establish if further presence/likely absence bat surveys may be required.

£600 +VAT

Emergence Surveys & Final report

Stage 2: Visit 2, 3 & 4

Experienced surveyors being positioned so that all elevations are covered. Surveyors will check for emergence and record any bat activity noted on site with the aid of specialist equipment including NVA footage. The following day the NVA footage and bat call data will then be subject to analysis. Once the surveys have been completed the report will be updated with the findings along with the mitigation and compensation if required.

As the property has high potential three surveys will be required.

£570 +VAT per visit. Total cost 3 visits £1,710 +VAT

Tree climbing & Aerial Bat Survey

PRF Aerial Inspection

Stage 1: Visit 1 (Depending on species presence 1-3 visits will be required)

This will involve the supervision of personnel in the tree canopy using an endoscope to inspect the feature(s). This allows a record of characteristics of PRFs to be taken and the opportunity to re-categorise both trees and PRFs. The aim is to determine the presence/likely absence of bats and the time of the survey and PRF categorisation.

PRF Aerial Inspection Report

Stage 2: Official Completion

Following the aerial inspection, it will be possible to recategorise the feature(s):
If only PRF-I is present, no further surveys are required. Instead, appropriate compensation and precautionary working methods will be specified.
